Nanaimo is home to the best of British Columbia's world famous wrecks! Explore the former HMCS Saskatchewan, B.C.'s most popular wreck along with the HMCS Cape Breton and the Riv Tow.
On June 14, 1997, Snake Island became the home for the former HMCS Saskatchewan. The location of this 366 foot ex-Canadian Navy destroyer escort on the east side of Snake Island makes this an excellent two-dive destination when combined with Snake Island Wall or the former HMCS Cape Breton.
The former HMCS Cape Breton is a 400 foot World War II Victory class ship and was sunk in Nanaimo on October 20, 2001. Cape Breton is the world's second largest diver-prepared artificial reef! She sank in 3 minutes and 37 seconds and sits upright with a bottom depth of 142 feet and a top of 35 feet.
The newest addition to Nanaimo's underwater fleet is the 157 foot North Sea Rescue Tug the Rivtow Lion. Sunk February 6, 2005 this ship is a perfect dive, conveniently located in Departure Bay only minutes from the dock.
This trip includes two nights accomodation, lunch each day and five boat dives. You must have your Advanced and Wreck certification (or be enrolled on our Wreck Specialty - offered on this trip) to join us. Deep certification is also recommended
