Ready to join us on a guided exploration of some of the best diving available in Howe Sound? We'll be on the Topline for a two dive adventure. We meet at 8:00am at Sewell's Marina in Horseshoe Bay. The Topline is large and comfortable with a knowledgeable crew. Space is limited to 12 divers so book early. You need to provide your own gear for this adventure (including tanks and weights) and we offer a 25% discount on rental gear when it is booked with a trip. Site locations are determined by weather and tides.
Each year we check out one of our local camp grounds and enjoy a weekend of camping and shore diving.
It is a great weekend to catch up with your dive friends, get out camping with your family, check out some new shore diving areas and generally relax and have fun. We haven't picked the site yet - but let us know if you want to join us and tell us your vote for location!
Nanaimo is the home of a number of artificial and natural wrecks and we are planning a weekend to dive them all!

The Nautilus Swell has enjoyed a romantic and varied history having been in active service as a tug, a fishing charter boat and liveaboard dive vessel in all parts of the Pacific North West. Most recently, she underwent a $3.5 million dollar refit in 2005 to bring her up to the high standard of modern liveaboard comfort and safety without losing the classic warm feeling of a vintage wooden vessel. She is at home in the waters of BC and Alaska and we are sure she will make you feel at home too, the moment you step onboard.
Diving from the Nautilus Swell couldn't be easier. Our 38 foot dive skiff Inde is essentially the "dive deck", with loads of room for storage. Once your gear is set up on Inde, a single step down from the mothership, you won't have to touch it again for the rest of the trip. A large multi-level camera table, covered drysuit rack, work station, gear storage area, and sparkling clear hot tub are located one flight of stairs up from Inde.
Your trip includes three nights accomodation, all meals from Thursday dinner to Sunday lunch, four fantastic days of boat diving, tanks and weights and 25% off rental if required.
Hornby Island Diving is a family business that has been owner operated for over 30 years. Their knowledge and experience means you get safe, fun dives at the best sites. The guest lodge, dive boat and tank fill station are among the best in BC, so you can enjoy wonderful diving in comfort. Non-divers and families love Hornby Island and they are always welcome to join us.
The waters around Hornby Island are full of a rich variety of marine life. In any season, you can encounter giant pacific octopus, wolf eels, harbour seals, large ling cod and rock fish, colourful anemones and nudibranchs. In winter, Steller and California sea lions gather in the area to feed on huge schools of herring. Their underwater acrobatics are a treat to watch.

Port Hardy is the Mecca of cold water dives. Browning Wall, Hunt Rock, the wreck of the Themis, Barrie Islet and many other sites offer some of the best diving in the world. Featured in National Geographic, Discovery Channel and Imax films, diving in Port Hardy can't be beat. Shear walls are covered in a conglomeration of some of the most beautiful invertebrate marine life you will ever see. Sponges, anemones, soft corals, nudibranchs, urchins, crabs, starfish, bryozoans, and other life forms blanket the bottom and come in almost every shade of the rainbow. You will often encounter Long fin Sculpins, Red Irish Lords, Puget Sound King Crabs, the occasional octopus, and various varieties of rockfish. The marine life here just seems to go on and on.
Accommodation for this trip is with God's Pocket, a land based scuba diving resort. Accessible only by boat, and surrounded by forested islands and the waterways of the Queen Charlotte Strait, a visit to God's Pocket provides not only spectacular cold water diving, but also an opportunity for kayaking, swimming with dolphins, and whale watching. Up to three boat dives a day will be included in this adventure. Separate cabins are spread between two buildings. There is also a larger common room for reading, hanging out, or watching movies. Meals are held in the common room and are gourmet.
An unspoiled area steeped in culture, Belize is complete with luscious jungles, mysterious cave systems, ancient Mayan ruins, unforgettable beaches and the world's second longest barrier reef. Dive the infamous Blue Hole, a sinkhole 1000 feet in diameter and 408 feet deep. Expect to see stalactites, sharks, eagle and stingrays, moray eels, turtles and enjoy it all in crystal clear turquoise waters. We will be staying on Ambergris Caye, in the town of San Pedro. Our diving will be with Hugh Parkey's Belize Dive Connection.
Alaska is something every diver should experience. It doesn't matter if you have thousands of cold-water dives under your weightbelt or have never been in a drysuit before. You need to experience this. The scenery is stunning and spectacular. The diving is some of the best cold water diving in the world. And the animals topside are just as enthralling as the critters below surface; grizzly bears ambling along the beach, bald eagles more numerous than seagulls, humpback whales blowing right beside the back deck water level as you sip your morning coffee. This is the full meal deal from incredible diving, photo opportunities, kayaking and shore expeditions all the way through climbing up icebergs.
No one expects to have any problems occur before or during a trip but situations may arise before departure or during your trip, over which you have no control. Travel insurance may provide extra protection for unexpected traveling problems. These problems could result from accident, illness, airline bankruptcy, lost luggage, cancelled or interrupted trip. Travel insurance is available at an additional cost and is highly recommended.
Ocean Pro Divers does not provide travel insurance. As insurance coverage and premiums may differ from company to company and certain exclusions may occur, it is your responsibility to review the insurance coverage to determine the nature and extent of coverage. We recommend the purchase of DAN (Divers Alert Network) insurance for dive emergencies.
